Adventuring: Havasu Falls, AZ

It was the morning of April the 1st, year 2016. There we were, six half-awake beings in our tightly packed Ford. On the road headed west to the beautiful land of Arizona.
Two months earlier I had found out I was on schedule for a vacation from work the first week of April. The very week our friends the Wallaces had planned the Havasu Falls hike for!

 The Lord's hand for sure!

My dear mother has always dreamed of taking a hike down into the Grand Canyon, and the rest of us were equally eager at the thought of going. So plans were made, equipment was bought, and we were off.

We spent time before the hike at the Wallace Ranch. They really are amazing hosts! And Sister Elisabeth never ceases to amaze me..

We took off for some fun on Friday before dinner..

Full tables are so welcoming.. Many old friends and a few new ones!

A visit to the Wallace's would NOT be complete without some wallyball ;)

My sweet friend Ruth and I-- I don't think anyone can make me laugh like this girl does!

I was SO happy to see these two! We claim to be long-distance cousins.. I just love those girls!

On Monday morning, all 45 of us hikers climbed into our designated vehicles. Er, maybe not designated.. Just wherever you could find a seat.. Or in my case, enough room to breathe and stay alive for the hour and a half drive. Lol;)

We then arrived at a small gas station where we had a granola breakfast.
Once again, Sis Elisabeth's skills just make me "wow".. The granola was awesome!

Sweet morning faces! You can see the excitement.

We arrived! My lil man cheesing at the canyon:)

Gearing up!

Starting the descent..

"Water, water, drink that water, Richard!"

There were a lot of mule trains packing in and out of the canyon.. The Indians who live at the bottom of the hike use this a means of transporting supplies.

We made it to the bottom! This was at a restaurant in the village:) We don't look tired at all, do we?!

(No, we really were.. At least I was. Heh heh.)

Back massages were given that evening..

The next morning we had breakfast in the courtyard of the lodge we stayed at.. Devotions were led by Bro. Jonathan Sanger, and then we headed out to see the falls!

What would I do without this girl??

The breathtaking Havasu Falls..

And Mooney falls!

And we made it back out!

Such a fun group of people!

And my Ruth :) Goodbyes are never fun.. Hopefully I'll see her again soon! ;)

It was such an amazing privilege to take this trip with my family. To admire the handiwork of our Lord and spend time with wonderful Christian friends.. I know it's a little taste of what heaven will be. And then there will be no goodbyes, just eternity to spend at our Savior's feet in that perfect new earth. I believe it's very soon!
